The primary skill sets of the service manager/coordinator are knowledge of the proper proactive processes and team-building ability for increased customer loyalty and service absorption. The position is located at our location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Accomplish customer service objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; Coordinate training for staff – both hands-on in-dealership and necessary factory training.
- Oversee day-to-day service operations including scheduling and distribution of work for service advisors, technicians, and yard team, utilizing our service scheduler and other tools as required to generate and manage work orders.
- Demonstrate the proper ways to handle customers and hold the team accountable to building customer loyalty and profitability.
- Track results of shop productivity and individual workers' productivity including but not limited to hours billed, efficiency, hours per repair orders, upsell, parts efficiency, etc...
- Set and communicate goals with the team; Communicate positive results with public praise and coach privately poor results.
- Be aware of shop capacity and open work order status.
- Ensures that we are getting paid promptly on warranty and red-tagged service tickets.
- Hold regular staff meetings and report results and issues to upper management on a regular basis.
- Ensure that everyone has accurate job descriptions and understands them.
- Track customer satisfaction and change processes in the shop as needed.
- Is aware of the market – what other stores are charging for labor, specials, parts, etc…
- Works with the sales department to ensure successful rigging, boat prep, boat shows, open houses, etc…
- Maintains a professional and positive attitude.

- Customer service focus and experience, product knowledge, process improvement, decision making, managing processes, staffing, planning and organizing, stress tolerance, initiative, presentation and communication skills.
